Why I’m Not Afraid To Fail Publicly

“If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?”-Steve Jobs

Take a second and answer the question truthfully. Whether you choose yes or no, the answer is not right or wrong. You are being honest with yourself. For me, when I look in the mirror and stare at my reflection I think two things. One, hello you’re gorgeous. Two, whatever happens today make sure its in alignment with whom you are becoming.

It’s just that simple for me. I hope it will become that simple for you. I strongly believe that fear does not exist. It’s a figment of our imagination that limits our potential to explore the world around us completely.

That’s not the world I want to exist within… ever. Whenever I get a new idea inside my head instantly I am excited. My heart starts pumping a little louder. I can’t sleep. I dream up all of the different scenarios of how this idea will make a huge impact in the world. I think of ways to implement this idea into my already jam packed schedule/routine. Even if the idea has came out of left field… I still own and trust it to be something magical.

Not once do I consider failure or the thought of public humiliation. Why would I give energy to defeat? We have the power to shape our lives from the moment we become inspired by a idea or thought. That idea needs the positive life force to come into full fruition. Don’t kill the dream before you put it on paper and work through the details.

To often we consider the thoughts and opinions of our friends and family first. We seek value from those who are not walking the same journey we are assigned to. Just because the sky is blue to all of us. Doesn’t mean we see the same shades of blue in the sky. We empower others to give our presence and gifts validation. No one should ever have that much access and influence over your destiny. Some people believe that the worse thing that could ever happen to them is to try to start a business and fail. Or go back to school and quit. I’d rather fail at starting a business than to dream of starting a business any day. I’d rather attempt to further my education than settle for under achieving academically. If you can aspire to have more in this life , you can see the vision through to the end.

God did not implant the spirit of fear, doubt, or failure inside of you. He has given us the ability to push forward. The insight to utilize our imagination and go for what we know that is already ours.

I’ve failed so many as a mom, daughter, friend, and writer. Instead allowing those moments to crush my spirit, I decided to learn from my mistakes. My mistakes are valuable lessons that have encouraged me to become better as a person and within relationships. As long as I’m alive I’m going to fail publicly and privately. But, at the end of the day when I rest my head on my pillow. I can honestly say that I tried my best and gave it my all today. Forgive yourself for your shortcomings and keep pushing forward. The future belongs to those who show up for it.
